Dream about a television

A television keeps your eyes moving across a surface that offers nothing to hold, a device that keeps the mind in a state of shallow wandering. This dream suggests a movement toward the surface of things, where the depth of your own inner life is traded for a constant stream of external noise. You may find yourself caught in a rush of flickering images that prevent you from settling into your own silence.

The distraction of this dream pulls a shroud over your own perceptions to avoid the weight of what is real. It is a way of being present in the world while remaining entirely unattached to the gravity of your own experience. This tendency to let your attention be caught by the passing glow of the screen can leave you feeling hollowed out. You possess the capacity to turn away from the triviality of the broadcast to find something more substantial. The dream is a flicker of light that reminds you of the stillness you are currently bypassing.

The experience of being on a reality show turns the passive drift of the television into a sharp, unsettling exposure. While the main dream is about your own tendency to wander, this dream shifts the focus to how you feel when the gaze of the world is turned upon you. You find yourself stripped bare before an audience of eyes that do not know you. The dream shows that your desire for distraction is being met by a sudden, forced visibility.
