Dream about cutting off a tongue

Cutting off a tongue marks a violent break in how you present your truth to the world. This dream suggests a movement where your ability to express your internal reality is being forcibly retracted, leaving a void where your testimony used to live. You might find that the parts of yourself that demand to be heard are being stifled by a growing inability to bridge the gap between your thoughts and your breath.

The silence that follows this loss is a heavy weight that sits in the throat, marking a period where the connection between your will and your word is broken. This dream may point to a state where you feel the power of your own conviction slipping away, leaving you unable to defend your position or declare your presence. Your truth remains intact, but the instrument of its delivery has been removed. You possess a clarity of thought that persists even when the means of expression are gone.

Having no tongue shifts the focus from a violent act to a state of permanent absence, which suggests that the loss of expression has become a settled condition rather than a recent wound. You are already existing within the stillness that remains after the voice has vanished.
